Allurion Gastric Balloon

An Allurion balloon is a small device created from a thin polyurethane membrane that is folded into a vegan-based capsule. The capsule is designed to be swallowed and sit in the stomach. Once the position is confirmed on x-ray it can be filled with 550mls of fluid. This gastric balloon creates a feeling of fullness helping limit portions and snacking.

After about 4 months, the thin membrane breaks down and travels safely through the bowel, it then passes out of the body in a bowel motion with the patient being unaware.

The procedure is accompanied with the holistic Allurion Program, designed to support patients with a diet and exercise plan to ensure long-term success.
