Think twice about giving your kids soft drink daily

Think twice about giving your kids soft drink daily

Australians drink 100 litres of soft drink per year and more than half is consumed in the home. Sugar sweetened beverages are one of the strongest predictors of child hood obesity.

Home is a place where we give identity to food and give it meaning. The most difficult barrier is if you drink soft drink yourself.

Children will generally take to water if it is available most of the time and soft drink is a special occasion food.

One of the more effective ways to influence your kids behaviour is to drink at least a bottle of water a day if you don’t already. Even if they don’t emulate you in the near future, they are more likely to as adults.
