Melbourne City Rooftop Honey

Melbourne City Rooftop Honey

Did you know one in three mouthfuls of food we consume is produced with the help of bees? Do you remember the bad news about bees around the world in 2007 with ‘colony collapse disorder’ marked by the disappearance of worker bees?

A group ofMelbournebee-keepers have been rescuing hives destined for extermination and relocating them onMelbournerooftops. This is a free service to the host and the honey is sold on under the Rooftop Label. So far they have relocated 50 hives and maintain them. There are 300 potential other rooves on their wait-list.

You can adopt or sponsor a hive or stock their honey if you have a retail outlet. Their mission is to expand the rooftop hives to other destinations – lets bring them toSydney. What a great idea.
