Food variety has been shown to be a valid measure of nutrition adequacy. Quantity is also important, especially for the newly-sleeved who are limited to around 1/3 cup of food per meal.

Professor Mark Wahlqvist is a nutrition researcher has developed a food variety questionnaire that is worth checking out, especially if you are a fussy eater, aren’t very organized around food and eating or are experiencing difficulty eating with the band (make an appointment with us to review).

Aim for at least 25 different foods each week.
